Categorizing reports

The Manage Reports page helps you to find, sort and categorize reports. You can restrict users to specific report categories when specifying user security permissions. Assigning categories to reports helps users to quickly locate reports by using the Categories filter on the Search bar.

Add, modify and delete Report Categories

Use the following steps to add a category using the Add Categories button:

1. On the Manage Reports page, click Add To Categories.

   

2. Enter a category name in the New Category box.
3. Click the Add icon.

Use the following steps to add a category using the Manage Report Categories page:

1. On the Manage Reports page, in the Report Categories pane, click the pencil icon.
2. On the Manage Report Categories page, in the New Report Category box, enter a new category name.
3. Click the Add icon.

You can also modify and delete report categories on the Manage Report Categories page.

Use the following steps to modify report category names:

1. On the Manage Reports page, in the Report Categories pane, click the pencilicon.
2. On the Manage Report Categories page, click the pencil icon to the right of the category to be modified.
3. Overwrite the existing name with the new name for the category.
4. Click OK.

Use the following steps to delete a report category:

A Report Category can only be deleted if no reports are assigned to that category.

1. On the Manage Reports page, in the Report Categories pane, click the pencilicon.
2. On the Manage Report Categories page, delete the category by clicking the Delete icon to the right of the category name.
