Editing a Data Set to exclude points
You can edit a Data Set to exclude points, even when the Data Set is currently being used by components.
Use the following steps to exclude points from a Data Set:
- Click Data > Data Sets to open the Data Sets page.
- Click a Data Set name to open the Edit Data Set dialog box. By default, all of the points in the Data Set are included wherever the Data Set is used.
- To exclude one or more points from being used when a Data Set is included in a component, click the Exclude check box for those points.
- Click OK to save your changes.
All components using that Data Set no longer include the points you excluded when generating a chart.
If you click Cancel, any changes that you made while editing the Data Set are ignored and the Data Set is unchanged.
Note: If the addition of points to a Data Set results in your point usage exceeding your license limits, the points are automatically excluded and the administrator is notified of the situation by email. A license upgrade results in the automatic inclusion of the additional points in the Data Set that were previously excluded.
