Exporting and importing report RRP files

Exporting and importing RC-Reporter reports as .rrp files is useful when you have a report configured to meet your requirements and you want to duplicate it on another installation of RC-Reporter. You can export the report from one RC-Reporter installation and import it into another RC-Reporter installation.

When you import a report into RC-Reporter, it is likely that the original links to data are no longer valid. To relink a report to available data, open the report and click Report Data. On the Report Data page, click in the Link/Value column in the grid for each data series. Using the Points list that appears, you can choose valid point data for each data series.

Note: Information about report categories is not included in the export process.

Use the following steps to export a report RRP file for use in another installation of RC-Reporter:

  1. On a report layout, click the report Settings icon and click Export as RRP. The message indicates that the RRP export has started.
  2. The .rrp file downloads to your computer, usually to the Downloads folder, depending on your browser settings.

Use the following steps to import a report RRP file that was exported from another installation of RC‑Reporter:

  1. On the Manage Reports page, click Batch Actions > Import Report (RRP)
  2. In the Import Report file (.RRP) dialog box, in the Choose File box, click Browse.
  3. In the File Explorer, navigate to the .rrp file.
  4. Click Open. This will import the report and open it at the data series page where you can add and modify points using the Link/Value column.
  5. Click OK.
