Interactive elements in reports

Interactive elements provide viewers with a degree of control over the data they see represented in reports.

The following interactive elements can be configured for inclusion in a report:

  • Report Dates selector — Sets a report-wide date range that can be referenced by each component. The Report Dates selector appears at the top of the report when a component is configured to use report dates.
  • Number Editor component — Provides a box where you can modify a value to update the data displayed in the report. This can be handy when analyzing the impact of a change to the cost of energy, or the number of years equipment will be in operation.
  • Identifier Selector — Provides a drop-down list of the identifiers configured in a Data Set. The Identifier Selector is automatically added to the top of a report when a Data Set is added to a component's series. Selecting an identifier associated with a point that is in a Data Set automatically updates all of the components in the report to show the data for the respective point.

The following Interactive features are provided by default:

  • Point values are displayed in hover text in components when you place your mouse pointer on a data point within a chart. For component charts in column or stacked column formats, the value and unit, the time range, and the data series name are displayed in the hover text.
  • Line charts can be manipulated with the following actions:

Zoom — Highlight an area to zoom into that area.

Scroll — Click and drag to scroll within a zoomed area.

Legends — Click a data series in the legend to hide it in the chart display.

Switch to Pin Mode — Select a section of the data, drag it to another part of the graph and overlay it to compare two line sections.

Zoom out one level — Click to zoom out one level.

Reset Chart — Click to reset the chart to see the full Data Set.
