User and security management
RC-Reporter users must log on to the system with a unique user name and password in order to perform any actions in RC-Reporter. RC-Reporter administrators can configure credentials and enable/disable user accounts for all users, and can set access permissions for each individual report or group of reports.
To manage user accounts, report permissions, and passwords, click Admin > Users. Only users with Admin Access and Manage Users permissions assigned to their account can access the Users menu item.
The Manage Users page includes the following details:
Name
The user's logon name. Clicking on the name will open the user's Account Information page.
Company
The user's place of employment.
The user's email address. This email address is used when creating distribution schedules.
Last Logon
Lists the last time the user logged in to RC-Reporter. Hovering the mouse over the date in the Last Logon column will show time as well as the date of the last logon.
Admin Access
Users with Admin Access permissions have access to all functionality within RC-Reporter. Only users with Admin Access permissions can manage databases.
Approve Users
User administrators with Approve Users permissions can create new users, and allow new users to log on to the RC-Reporter website. User administrators can also assign permissions to users so that they can view reports that are grouped into certain categories.
Edit Reports
Users assigned Edit Report permissions can create, modify, categorize, and delete reports. Report designers can also manage point data and import data from spreadsheets to be used in reports.
Report Categories
Reports can be grouped into categories. Users are assigned permissions to access all reports that are tagged with a specific category.
Status
