Managing passwords

If users forget their password, they can click Forgot password on RC-Reporter's logon page. They will automatically receive an email that contains a link that they can use to enter a new password. Once logged on, users can also change their password when viewing their account information.

If you have administrator permissions, you can change passwords for users directly, or send a password reset request to users who have forgotten their password. Sending a password reset request will generate an email that is immediately sent to the user's email address. The email contains a hyperlink that connects to RC-Reporter and allows the user to enter a new password.

Sending a password reset request

Use the following steps to send a password reset request:

  1. Click Admin > Users
  2. Under Manage Users, click a user name other than your own in the Name column.
  3. In the Web access area, click Send Reset Request.

If you are an administrator, you can change your password, or the password of any other users. If you do not have administrator permissions, you can change your own password only.

Changing your password

You can change your password using one of the following methods.

Change your password using the Users page:

  1. Click Admin > Users.
  2. In the Name column, click your name.
  3. In the Change Password area, in the Password box, enter a new password.
  4. In the Re-enter password box, enter the password again.
  5. Click Save.

Change your password using the menu bar:

  1. In the top menu, beside Hello, click your name.
  2. In the Password box in the Change Password area, enter a new password.
  3. In the Re-enter password box, enter the password again.
  4. Click Save.
