Registering a soft license without an Internet connection

If your workstation does not have an Internet connection, your soft license must be authorized manually.

You can use an RC-Key to move and share a single RC-Reporter software license between multiple workstations.

Use the following steps to register a soft license without an Internet connection:

1. Open RC-LicenseManager.
2. Click File > Open and browse to where your soft license file is stored.
3. Click Open to open the soft license file. The Online Authorization dialog box is displayed.
4. Record the displayed Serial Number, Name, Company and Computer Code.
5. Go to a workstation or mobile device that has Internet access.
6. Navigate to the Reliable Controls website. Click Software > Authorization and enter the following information:
• Software Product — Click to select the RC-Reporter software product from a list.
• Serial Number — Enter the serial number of the product.
• Name — Enter the purchaser or user name.
• Company — Enter the name of the Authorized Dealer the software was purchased from.
• Computer Code — Enter the computer code that was generated when the software failed to connect.
• Workstation — Enter the computer or workstation name where the software is installed.
• Contact Information — Enter the contact information of the individual attempting to authorize the software. License information uses this contact information for emails.
