Customizing a component
The look of RC-Reporter components can be customized by changing:
- Fonts and font sizes
- Background color
- Banner color
- Border width and color
To customize the presentation of a component, click the component's Edit
icon, click Edit in the menu, and then click the Settings tab.
For all components except for the text and image components, you can add a title that will appear in the banner of each component. Component titles can be customized for font, font size, and font color using a fully-featured rich text editor. You can also hide the component title and the component header area in the report by selecting the Hide Title check box on the Settings tab.
Use the following steps to modify component colors and borders:
- Click a component's Edit
icon and click Edit in the menu. - On the Edit Component page, click the Settings tab.
- In the Title area, enter title text and use the text formatting functionality to change the title font, color and other formatting details.
- Under the Style area, modify:
- Title Background — Click the colored square to choose from a color palette. This color will appear as a color field behind the report title. You can also select Make Transparent.
- Border — Click the corresponding colored square to define the color to be used for component borders. You can also select Make Transparent.
- Border Width — Click in the number box and enter a value, in pixels, for the width of the component border.
- Background — Click the red x to choose from a color palette. When selected, a color will appear in the background of the component. You can also select Make Transparent.
- Highlight — Available when Table or Chart & Table is selected on the Edit tab. Click the red x to choose a background color for every second row in the table. Alternating background colors for table rows makes the table easier to read. You can also select Make Transparent.
- Text — Click the colored square to choose from a color palette. When selected, this color will appear as the text color for all text within the component.
- Click Reset to return all the above settings to the default settings.
